IP Business Phone Systems

CIX200

This site gives you information on VoIP telephone systems. It is a work in progress. We are constantly adding information that will help you to decide which phone system to purchase for your business. We have started with the Toshiba Business Telephone System because in our experience, this is the finest phone system on the market today. It has the longest meantime before failure. It is also the third most sold system in America today. The Toshiba Business Telephone System also is the most flexible and feature rich system of any phone system on the market, ever. Toshiba has just announced their 1200 port mammoth phone switch which can be networked with other 1200 port switches using VoIP giving you, theoretically, an unlimited phone system which acts as one.

woman2 Our next project will be the new Cisco UC500 series phone system, which in our opinion, is the most innovative new design system out there today.

Please feel free to browse our site and if you would like to add information to our site, we welcome your comments and articles. We are endeavoring to gather every piece of information on the phone systems that SMB's need today.

This site is built by telecommunications professionals who have a combined experience of over 60 years in telecommunications. Voice and data people are as different as a dentist and a medical doctor. Not to insult data people, but most data people start by taking apart their PC at home when they were young. They learned how to put in sound cards, load software and from there, using their innate abilities and experiences, they go on to networks and some very difficult projects. But where does one learn telecommunications which is distinctly different than data, networking or pc software? Obviously you don't have a 500 port telephone system with voice mail in your garage that you can take apart, add to and upgrade. Also, no business with telecommunications assets is going to let a novice practice on their system to learn what works and doesn't work. Where most telecommunications experts learn their trade is by working for the government, the phone company or companies called "interconnects".

An interconnect is a company that deals with business to business telephone, voicemail, etc. equipment, programming, installation, design and maintenance. These companies will spend thousands of dollars training their technicians on how to design, program and install telecommunications equipment. Those who learn from the government often learn telecommunications through the military. One of the authors of this site had his start in Marine Corps telecommunications in the late 70's and early 80's. He worked with requirements from front line combat organizations that needed telephones and radios in the field. He also had experience with communications battalions that had millions of dollars in equipment that often required tractor trailers to transport them, all the way up through and including the Joint Chiefs of Staff level. In these areas you learn everything from simple cabling of telephones to fiber optics, voicemail, encryption, security, microwaves, satellites, design, installation and telecommunications management.

Other experiences include working for large multinational corporations who have extensive and varying telecommunications experience. The systems they deal with are local and worldwide.

It is distinctly unfair to task data people with the design and install of telecommunications equipment. Even though most data people we have associated with are highly trained and well educated, they do not have a specialty in telecommunications. It is like asking a medical doctor to fill the cavity in your tooth.

It is with this in mind that we are building this web site.

Thank you for visiting.
